Kanye West Returns to the Stage After Kim Kardashian’s Robbery: ‘It’s Good to Be Home’
Welcome back, Mr. West!
Following a brief break after his wife, Kim Kardashian West, was held at gunpoint and tied up inside a Paris hotel last Sunday, Kanye West returned to the stage for his scheduled Saint Pablo tour stop in Chicago on Friday.
According to an eyewitness, the “Famous” rapper took the stage around 9:23 p.m., 1 hour and 23 minutes past schedule. The 39-year-old Chicago native performed until 10:58 p.m., at one point telling the crowd, “It’s good to be home!”
Inside the venue, Kanye performed atop a lifted floating stage, with bright lights surrounding him from all angles. “The lighting was a huge spectacle,” the eyewitness explained. During his performance of “Fade,” the red lights hovering above Kanye even appeared to dance along to the catchy track.
“All of the Lights” was a very fitting song choice considering the twinkling atmosphere, as many fans pointed out via social media.

The father of two seemed to be in his element as he aggressively busted out the bars from “I Love Kanye.”
Judging by a few fan videos posted to Instagram, however, Yeezy didn’t seem as energetic as he normally is during a show.
As ET previously reported, West abruptly walked off stage midway through a performance of his song “Heartless” at the Meadows Festival in Queens, New York, on Sunday after hearing that his wife had been held up. The rapper told the audience that he had to end the show due to a “family emergency.”
